The skills training and assessment focus only on the core technical skill at their set levels 1-4. When taking an instructor certification course it allows the candidate to focus on the skills of being a good coach, guide or instructor with the comfort of already having been assessed on the core paddling strokes.
Assessments are ideal for club paddlers, seasonal camp staff and waterfront managers who do not need an instructor certification but do need to show a level of paddling proficiency for employment, group management and safety awareness.
